Research Interests:
I study plant genetics and genomics and I'm interested in applying functional genomics to the identification of genes and molecular markers for developing new crop varieties. My research is particularly focused on the genetic diversity and the genetic control of kernel composition in corn.
My research group is also working on tropical corn diversity, avocado genetics, and transcriptomics to elucidate fruit quality related-traits.
