Research Interests:

I recently completed a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Missouri. This past year I have been studying the movement of organellar DNA into the maize B chromosome using a draft B-chromosome sequence produced by an international consortium. Comparing these mitochondrial regions to various mitochondrial genomes could give some insight into the origin of the maize B chromosome. While in the Buckler Lab,  I hope to learn more about developing and utilizing machine learning models to predict various sequence features and attributes.

Education:

•    B.S. in Biochemistry and a minor in Computer Science at the University of Missouri.
