Sara is the Business Director of the Institute for Genomic Diversity and the Buckler Lab. This somewhat unusual role is the result of Ed Buckler’s position as a USDA-ARS employee (not a Cornell employee). Sara is the Cornell supervisor of the group. She is in charge of personnel, finances, and all administrative matters. Sara is the person to reach out to if you have general questions about the lab and do not know where to start (or if you are trying to reach Ed and have been unsuccessful).

Sara is a graduate of Swarthmore College and the University of Michigan Law School. In addition to her brief time as a practicing lawyer, she spent five years as a bookstore manager. Sara comes to the Buckler Lab by way of the office of the director and chair of the NYU Child Study Center, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, NYU School of Medicine. She is happy to have traded in the stresses of all the above for a job that periodically requires her to drop everything and go play with plants.
